River in Paradise is the personal branding of artist, Kawtar Azzouzi. Deciding to sell prints of her illustrated & painted works under the brand name began as a solution to her very Arab name, Kawtar (Ko-tar), often…well, let’s be real, always being mis-pronounced. River in Paradise is the meaning behind the name & originates from the Quran. Al-Kauthar, the shortest sura in the Quran, speaks of a River in Paradise.

Inspired by her Moroccan heritage, the nude female form & surrealism, her work depicts reality through a dream-like lens. She strives to always find the beauty in her surroundings & to inspire others to see that Paradise is all around them.
